Today went well, I learned a lot of things:

1) My internal voice on art gets the best of me sometimes. My head doesn't listen to my heart and my heart doesn't listen to my brain. Instead of trusting that my paintings could stand on their own I try and build some "crazy" installation, that at the end of the day, looked incomplete and thrown together.
2) "The Shortest Distance" is the most underrated singer-songwriter in the DFW + Denton area.
3) I love to do these outdoor festivals. They're different than galleries, lot less stressful and a different set of challenges to work with.
4) The sun is HOT! Respect the sun!

Pre-Babel Construction
Been attempting to read Plato's "Republic" and listening to Sir Thomas More's "Utopia" on audiobook and "Wave Twisters" by DJ Q-bert. I'm really interested in this idea of the perfect society. This piece is based on these things along with the story about the Tower of Babel and the other versions of this story.
You will be able to see the full installation on May 22, 2010, Arlington Highlands shopping center from 12pm - 5pm.

Exit Through the Gift Shop
A must see movie for street artists, artists, and people who love art especially street art. Banksy is one of my favorite artists. I appreciate his willingness to create art under the assumption that no one will know who he is and the viewer is left to their own to decide what the pieces mean and if they're really art or a practical joke.
